La Marelle Céleste
Quelques heures après l'ouverture officielle de Shanghai 2010, Franck Ancel propose à chacun d'expérimenter un pavillon totalement virtuel, un an avant que la Chine lance dans l'espace un module inhabité, Tiangong-1, qui veut dire littéralement « Palais céleste » où les taïkonautes mèneront des recherches en gravité zéro.
Franck Ancel évoquait déjà ce proche avenir dans sa réalisation artistique de « 1957/2007: from Sputnik Satellite to Explorer Art » parce que cette dimension cosmique est aujourd'hui une donnée majeure dans l'imaginaire planétaire. En 2006, lors d'une conférence dans la Silicon Valley, il imaginait même « de la scénographie au réseau planétaire pour Shanghai 2010 » en rapport avec les satellites. (1)
L'actuelle conception de l'Exposition Universelle a transfiguré les ruelles traditionnelles de Shanghai, sans aucun satellite, où le jeu universel de la marelle (2) était pratiquée, il y a encore quelques décennies. Aujourd'hui, Ancel crée une Marelle Céleste « de la zérographie à la conscience planétaire ».
Lors de l'Exposition Universelle de Paris en 1900, Loïe Fuller dansait sous l'électricité de son propre pavillon. Ancel propose via Internet à chacun de dessiner son propre pavillon virtuel, pour y “danser“, sur le sol des villes du monde entier, sur une marelle, jeu déjà présent sur les cinq continents, où la terre devient zéro et le ciel infini.
En 2005, Franck Ancel avait déjà mis en jeu une telle universalité, des cinq continents, pendant un voyage de Shanghai vers l'Europe par une première mondiale, en diffusant, une vidéo en direct, sur Internet via satellite, de 64 minutes depuis un avion, à plus de 900 kilomètres à l'heure et à une altitude de 30000 pieds.
Si 64 mots s'affichaient dans ce manifeste, toutes les minutes, pour constituer un lexique cosmologique personnel ils composent toujours, de manière invisible, 8 cases de la Marelle Céleste, que chacun pourra remplir avec son imagination. C'est ce type de combinatoire qui orientera aussi notre événement « de zéro à l'infini », sous la coupole du Temple de Pentemont à Paris, le 26 juin, à partir d'un manuscrit original de Mallarmé.
Une semaine avant cette date, une Marelle Céleste sera dessinée en marge de la foire mondiale d'Art Basel, sans doute devant l'Euro-Airport, après une première à Paris le 19 mai, rue de l'Exposition, et une autre, avant de courir le marathon de Shanghai comme un projet de « Global Poétique Système », juste après la clôture de l'Exposition Universelle de 2010.

The Celestial Hopscotch
Franck Ancel is having an event which will commence a few hours after the official opening of the Shanghai World's Fair. He proposes to each of you to experience a virtual pavilion. This is one year before China launches its uninhabited module "Triangong-1" into space. When translated literally, its name means "Celestial Palace", where the Taikonauts will conduct experiments in zero gravity.
Franck Ancel had already brought up this near future in his artistic project <<1957/2007:>>. That cosmic dimension is today a major factor in the planetary imagination. In, during a conference he gave in Silicon Valley, he even imagined "A Scenography towards a Planetary Network for Shanghai 2010", also concerned with satellites. (1)
Without any satellites, the current conception of the Universal Exposition has transformed the narrow streets of Shanghai, where the universal game of hopscotch (2) had been played by the city's youth for centuries. Now, Ancel will create a Celestial Hopscotch in the zerography of planetary consciousness.
At the Universal Exposition of Paris in 1900, Loïe Fuller danced under the flag of its electricity pavilion. Ancel offers the chance for everyone to design their own virtual Pavilion, to "dance" on the ground of world cities, a hopscotch grid already present on five continents where the land becomes zero and the sky infinite.
Franck Ancel previously put continental universality into play in 2005 during his trip from Shanghai to Europe when he created the world premiere, broadcasting a real time video from the air lasting 64 minutes live over the internet via satellite, at more than 900 kilometers per hour and at an altitude of nearly 30,000 feet.
64 words per minute were broadcast in this video in this manifesto in order to construct a personal cosmological lexicon. For this new event, they will make up the eight squares of the Celestial Hopscotch grid, which each can fill in from his own imagination. One week before that date, a Celestial Hopscotch grid will be drawn on the outskirts of the International Art Fair in Basel, Switzerland. The place has yet to be determined, but it will probably be in front of the Euro-Airport. Another will be drawn in Paris on May 19 in rue de l'Exposition (Exposition Street).
